On April the 19th I was to the EDDA concert in the Sports Arena, Targu Mures. 30 years, 30 golden disks… They must know something, right? Here are my favorite 3 melodies:
Edda -Ma meg egyutt
Edda – Csak bird ki – Orokseg
Edda – Femszivu fiu

Children of Glory will commemorate Hungary’s heroic Revolution of 1956, and takes place in Budapest and at the Melbourne Olympic Games in October and November of that year. While Soviet tanks were destroying Hungary, the Hungarian water polo team was winning over the Soviets in the Olympic pool in Melbourne, in what has been described as the bloodiest water polo match in history. Bereczki Zoltán – Hangokba zárva (Closed into melodies)
We can’t follow always our dreams, can’t do always what our heart dictates, and as the guy from the video says, we should sometimes stop and go back in the years, and check what the little child we were would think about the men he has become. And ask ourselves if the years passed are useless, or can we learn something from our past.
Breaking up with tradition, will post a YouTube video, as it’s something that stands really close to magic and the visual effects complete the general view.
You can watch the whole Berecki Zoltan – Szinetar Dora concert from the Budapest Sport Arena HERE
Szecsi Pal-Domjan Edit – Bus szivbol enekelni…
Szecsi Pal was a Hungarian singer until his mysterious death in 1974 (still subject of legends and myths).
The life wasn’t really kind with him, after he lost his father in the last days of WW2 (he was just 1 year old), his mother left him and his 2 nurses alone and migrated to the USA. After leaving the orphanage at 16, his charming, boyish, masculine look and his great voice made by him a real idol of the 60′s, 70′s Hungary.
In love he wasn’t really successful, because of his problems with alcohol, he couldn’t keep nobody close enough to him. After cheating Domjan Edit just after 10 months with an other woman, Edit committed suicide. Pal always had the strong belief that he was part of her death, and this is how this song has born. He mad a mistake and paid the price…
After all, losing somebody you loved, you cared about is not easy at all… You can make mistakes, maybe you can’t express in the right ways your feelings, but you’re the only one knows what’s going on inside your soul…
For me Szecsi Pal is dear for an other reason too, and this is because of he fact that my father in his younger years almost looked like how Pali was. Not kidding!
